Looking for a new stylus (needle) for your turntable? Here are a few things to consider before you order what you think you need. We have cross reference lists that show what cartridge and stylus came on your turntable when it was new. However, a lot of these turntables are 20 to 40 years old. It is very likely, especially if you are not the original owner, that the cartridge that was supplied with the turntable when it was new, is no longer on the unit. Looking in your owners manual or going by the label on the top of your turntable may result in you getting an incorrect stylus if the unit no longer has the original cartridge on it. So, we will inevitably ask you for the brand and model of the cartridge on the unit. We do this to save time and frustration for you and us. We just want to make sure you get what you need the first time.

On some cartridges there will be a model number on the stylus itself. In other cases the model number is on the cartridge. It may be on the side or the top. If you need help identifying what you need, don't hesitate to ask us for some assistance. With this number we can positively identify the stylus (needle) you need.

Lastly, sometimes it is less expensive to just replace the complete cartridge, which comes with a new stylus, than to replace just the stylus. We have several different cartridges available on our website for you to choose from. If you need help deciding which will work best on your turntable, just email us and we will help.

A few extra minutes of research before you order can save you wasted listening time having to return the stylus to get the correct one.
